VCA Animal Hospitals - BAD PRESCRIPTION POLICY
I’ve been re-ordering Simparica from my VCA location for several years without having to take my dog for a checkup prior to obtaining the flea/tick medication. Today, I discovered that Chewy.com offers the same product online (saving me a trip to the vet) for $18 less than VCA.
My order was handled quickly by Chewy.com who faxed VCA a request for the prescription. I verified with VCA that they had received the fax and would require the vet’s approval and they would follow up with the online purchase. I just received an email from Chewy. com that my order had been canceled because VCA’s vet required that I take my pet in for a check up first.
Why was I always able to pick up refills without having to “checkup” my pet, but when I try to save my money (I’m on a fixed budget) and time, I now need to visit VCA for my pet’s check up. NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
